Who are we? That’s a question with answers that are constantly changing!
We were two people who for four years had no idea the other even existed, regardless of having the same friends, going to the same school, and graduating the same year! It wasn’t until 2 years after we graduated high school that our paths would cross.
If you told me while I was a senior in high school that I would be married to D, 4 years after we graduated, I would tell you that you were nuts! Let’s be real, D was not the type of guy I would have dated in high school. D had long hair (I guess that was the thing for guys in high school.) and was huge into skating, he was by all means not my type of guy. Not to mention I was all about JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) and getting as far ahead in the program as I could! I couldn’t even imagine dating someone outside the program. 🙂 It also didn’t help that although we had the same friends and I guarantee walked past each other in the halls ALL the time, we never spoke one word to each other. After graduation I went to college and he joined the Army. Who would have thought that after going on two VERY different paths in life they would end up crossing? A few years after graduation I met D’s stepbrother who became a close friend. In November his brother had posted a status about D coming home, I happened to click on D’s profile and thought he was very attractive(how cliché right?). I had to message him, so that’s exactly what I did! Two months after that first message I met D for the first time at the airport the day he came home from Korea, let’s be real, one of the best days of my life! After two months of dating I moved with him half way across the country to live with him at his new duty station. Two weeks after we get there I had to go back to our hometown to tie up some loose ends, little did I know that while I was on that plane he was asking my parents for my hand in marriage. When I got back to D our lives started to change! D picked me up from the airport, in full ACU’s and that was where he asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes!
So that’s where we started, a boy I never thought twice about dating in high school to marrying the man of my dreams 4 years later! I wouldn’t change anything or how things were done (even if they were a little fast) for the world.
This is where D was supposed to have his little tid bit on me while we were in school and the years leading up to our marriage. Two weeks later and we still have an empty spot. Someday soon we will have a little more on his perspective on how everything happened…..I hope!!
This blog is something I have wanted to do for a long time! We have a lot of friends and family who don’t live in the same state as us and quite honestly we don’t talk as much as we should. With this blog I wanted everyone to be able to see what was going on with us in our lives and to let others see they aren’t alone! This blog stems from my infertility and the steps we are taking to expand our little family.

It’s only a matter of time!
